- The standard payment gateway rate is 2.9% per sale. On Start Free, Shopstar adds a 3.1% fee, making the standard all-in rate 6%. On Lower Fees, Shopstar adds nothing per sale, so the standard rate is 2.9%. Standard rates apply to most sales. On small payments, provider-cost floors or currency minimum fees can make the effective percentage higher.
- Do I need a credit card to sign up?
- No. You can start on Start Free without a credit card.
- Can I change plans later?
- Yes. Start free, then switch to Lower Fees when your sales volume makes the monthly fee worthwhile.
- Which plan is right for me?
- If you sell more than $935.48/month, Lower Fees saves you money compared to Start Free.
- What payment methods do you support?
- Shopstar includes built-in online payments, so you do not need to open or connect a separate payment gateway account. Paystack merchants can accept Card, Apple Pay and Scan to Pay. Apple Pay requires a compatible device. Memberships use a card for recurring payments.
